Meet the Team: Rob Moore

We’re getting to know our Finance Director, Rob Moore in the next instalment of our ‘Meet the Team’ series.

See what he had to say here…

1. Can you describe your role and key responsibilities at Sterling Properties?
I’m Sterling’s Finance Director and responsible for leading the finance function of the company. This includes developing and implementing property strategy, providing insight to improve business performance, managing our property systems, ensuring financial controls are in place and that we generally run a tight ship in terms of cost control and financial reporting compliance.

2. What does the concept of the ‘Sterling difference’ mean to you?
Having the scale and expertise to help our clients deliver their strategic property needs, whilst still giving an individual and tailored service to all our tenants.

3. What do you enjoy the most about your role at Sterling?
Working with great people at a company that invests for the long term and the sheer variety of properties we are involved with.

4. How do you like to spend your time when you’re not working?
Mostly cricket in the summer – playing and coaching my daughter’s team. In the winter, national hunt racing, attending gigs and eating out if I can fit it in!

5. Can you share an interesting or unusual fact about yourself?
I have been gunged on live TV.

6. If you could have dinner with any person, (dead or alive), who would it be and why?
Author of the Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy (and conservationist) Douglas Adams, very funny and intelligent person who always seemed to approach life from an unexpected angle. I have met Ian Botham a couple of times, but would love to share a bottle (or two) of a wine of his choosing!
